TestArena Privacy Policy

TestArena is an entry-test preparation app for HSSC / Intermediate students preparing for university entry tests including MDCAT, ECAT, NEET, JEE, STBB and NTS. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

1. The short version

• No account, no sign-up with us — you create a local profile on your device.
• All your data stays on your device. We do not send your answers, scores, notes, or any personal information to our servers, because the app does not have a server.
• No ads, no analytics, no tracking. We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, AdMob, Meta SDK, or any third-party tracker.
• No third-party data sharing. We do not sell or share any data with anyone.

2. What information the app stores on your device

TestArena keeps the following data locally in your phone's storage (Android IndexedDB / local browser storage), so the app works offline and your progress survives across sessions:

• Your display name (whatever you type when creating a profile — you can use a nickname).
• Quiz attempt history — which questions you saw, what you answered, when, and whether you got them right.
• Per-topic mastery estimates and predicted scores.
• Bookmarks, mistake notebook, your typed notes, and custom test settings.
• App settings — sound, animation, theme mode, target syllabus, study planner date.
• Submitted high scores you choose to share — these are visible only to other user profiles on the same device.

None of this is transmitted to any server. The app has no network calls that send your data anywhere.

3. What information we never collect

• Phone number, email address, real name (unless you choose to type one as your profile name).
• Contacts, photos, location, microphone, camera — TestArena does not request any of these permissions.
• Device identifiers (advertising ID, IMEI, MAC address, etc.).
• Crash reports or telemetry.

4. Children's privacy

TestArena is aimed at students aged 13 and over preparing for university entry tests. Because the app does not collect personal information, it does not knowingly collect data from children under 13 either.

5. Your control over your data

Because everything lives on your device, you control it directly:

• Export — Profile → Your Data → Export progress (JSON).
• Import — restore from a JSON file you exported earlier.
• Reset — Profile → Your Data → Reset all progress wipes everything.
• Delete the app — uninstalling TestArena removes all locally-stored data.

6. Permissions the app requests

TestArena requests only the standard Android permissions needed to run a web-based app and write its own local storage. It does not request location, contacts, microphone, camera, SMS, or call permissions.

7. Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices ever change (for example if we add an opt-in cloud-sync feature in a future version), this policy will be updated and the "Last updated" date at the top will change. The current version is always available at this URL.
